Dkny watches: Donna Karan International Inc. and Fossil, Inc.
announced today that they have finalized a strategic licensing
alliance to produce and distribute Donna Karan New York, DKNY
and DKNY watches worldwide. The DKNY watch line will be introduced
during the New York Fashion Market in January 2000 with deliveries
to department stores, specialty stores, selected watch and
jewelry stores and DKNY free-standing stores worldwide beginning
in March 2000. The Donna Karan New York line is currently
scheduled for introduction in the fall 2001.
The DKNY watch collection will consist of approximately 100
styles of mens and womens wrist watches with retail prices
ranging from $75 to $195. The design and palette of the collections
will capture the urban spirit and sophistication of DKNY.
Styles will range from contemporary bracelets and classic
stainless steel to athletic watches. "Our watch designs
are creative, innovative and have a real fashion/lifestyle
look to them," commented Gary Bollinger, Fossil's Senior
Vice President, Donna Karan Division. "Fossil's objective
in creating the DKNY watch line is to leverage the DKNY and
DKNY Active brands into strong watch categories that will
enhance Fossil's top-line revenue and bottom-line profit and
also enhance the DKNY and DKNY Active portfolio of products,"
concluded Bollinger.
